Trump Son Won’t Rule Out Possible Run for Mayor of NYC

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of The Union” Sunday, Donald Trump Jr. admitted that he might consider jumping into politics himself someday.

Tapper told Trump that after his speech at the Republican National Convention, many Republicans are wondering if he might run for office himself, and said the question has even been raised if he would run for mayor of New York City against Bill de Blasio in 2017?

Donald Trump Jr. responded, “I had a good time up there, it was exciting to be able to have a platform like that to speak my voice.  Because as you can hear, from this interview, I’m really frustrated with what’s going on in this country, Jake, and if I could do that one day, I’d love to be able to do it for the people in this country. If that’s how I can pay back and give something back, I’d love to do it.”

He said right now he’s more concerned about getting his father into the White House, “because I know he will do a wonderful job, he’s going to fight for the people, I want him to win, I know he can fix this country.”

He confirmed that he would never rule out a run for mayor himself and always likes to keep his options open.
