Protests broke out at airports throughout America on Saturday evening in reaction to President Trump’s executive order to restrict refugees from entering the U.S. if they stem from any one of seven terror-laden countries, including Syria.
The biggest protest took place at JFK airport in New York City (see video).
As a result of the Dept. of Homeland Security enforcing the order at JFK, protests broke out after multiple immigrants were detained at the airport.
Soon after the detentions were reported, the ACLU launched a lawsuit against the president, and a judge in Brooklyn, NY, issued an emergency temporary stay that essentially blocks the president’s executive orders.
With protests growing at JFK and around the nation, Hillary Clinton took advantage of the situation by issuing a tweet rejecting President Trump’s orders.
The two-time failed presidential candidate wrote: “I stand with the people gathered across the country tonight defending our values & our Constitution. This is not who we are.”
