HILLARY SICK? Another Coughing Attack Today; Things It Can Be

According to the Mayo Clinic, women tend to have more-sensitive cough reflexes, so they’re more likely to develop a chronic cough than are men.  That said, Hillary Clinton had another coughing fit today.  The difference this time is she wasn’t speaking at the time ( see video #1).

The attack happened when Clinton was attending a town hall in Sylmar, California.  A video of the incident shows Clinton coughing while another panel member is speaking.  She took a very large drink of water but it did no good, she continued to cough repeatedly.

Clinton’s chronic cough has been with her throughout the 2016 campaign.  One of the worst instances occurred in January (video #2).

According to Mayo Clinic, a cough that persists for weeks is usually the result of a medical problem. In many cases, more than one cause is involved.

The following causes, alone or in combination, are responsible for the majority of cases of chronic cough:

  • Postnasal drip.
  • Asthma.
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  • Infections.
  • Blood pressure drugs.
  • Chronic bronchitis.

Less commonly, chronic cough may be caused by:

  • Aspiration (food in adults; foreign bodies in children)
  • Bronchiectasis (damaged airways)
  • Bronchiolitis
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Laryngopharyngeal reflux (stomach acid flows up into the throat)
  • Lung cancer
  • Nonasthmatic eosinophilic bronchitis (airway inflammation not caused by asthma)
  • Sarcoidosis (collections of inflammatory cells in different parts of your body, most commonly the lungs)
