Hillary Tweets: Must save Obamacare + more

Four GOP senators, Bill Cassidy (La.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Ron Johnson (Wis.) and Dean Heller (Nev.), are seeking to give control over health care to the states in a last-ditch effort to repeal and replace Obamacare with a bill they introduced on Wednesday.

The new bill would end federal funding for Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion and the subsidies that were given to people so they could afford coverage. Instead, the money would be converted into block grants and given to the states. It would also stop funding Planned Parenthood.

Predictably, Democrats and liberal news pundits are against the new bill, because they want Obamacare to remain in place.

In early May, Cassidy said any legislation the Senate passes must meet what he coined the “Jimmy Kimmel test” — a reference to a speech the talk show host gave urging Congress to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions had affordable health coverage. He told reporters on Friday that states would have to show they are providing “affordable and adequate” coverage before a waiver would be granted.

But Kimmel wasn’t buying it. In fact, he took the issue to his talk show on Tuesday evening, stating that Cassidy lied about his efforts to protect those with pre-existing conditions. He went on to post a copy of video into a tweet (see below), captioning it with a call to action:

“If you too are disappointed in Sen let them know it – call (202) 224-3121,” tweeted out Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday evening.

Hillary Clinton, currently on a speaking tour all over the country promoting her new book, “What Happened,” weighed in on the issue, calling the new bill “another cruel effort to take health care away from millions of people.”

Both liberals are calling for their supporters to mobilize against passage of the new Obamacare repeal bill. In replies under Kimmel’s tweet, Twitter users are promoting the usage of new methods to place calls to senators, called “resistbots” and “5 Calls,” which is an app, quickly and often.
