Hollywood actor, Richard Gere blasted Israel over its settlements located in territories Palestinians want as a state.
Gere visited Jerusalem to attend the local premiere of a new film in which he stars by Israeli writer-director Joseph Cedar.
Sunday’s Haaretz newspaper featured a story in which it quoted the “Pretty Woman” star as saying, “Settlements are such an absurd provocation … and they are certainly not part of the program of someone who wants a genuine peace process.”
As stated by Page Six, the international community overall views settlements as an obstacle to peace.
Israel says settlements, along with other core issues such as security should be resolved in peace talks.
