Tent cities are growing at a rapid pace in major cities in the Unites States. A tent city is a collection of homeless people who live in tents because they cannot afford housing. This is caused by a lack of work opportunities. America’s lack of jobs is driven by the horrible policies of President Obama.
Over-regulated businesses are no longer hiring full time employees. At the core of it all is Obamacare. Businesses with a minimum of 50 employees are forced to pay high premiums or pay expensive fines. Therefore, they hire people on a part time basis, or they hire illegal labor. This forces people from their homes and into the streets.
According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than half a million people are homeless in America right now. It has been reported that the number of homeless children in this country has risen by 60 percent since the last recession, and Poverty USA says that a total of 1.6 million children slept either in a homeless shelter or in some other form of emergency housing at some point last year.
The policies being proposed by Hillary Clinton are extensions of the Obama platform. Therefore, if she is elected in November, it is a certainty that small businesses across America will continue to feel pressure and thus, new jobs will be limited.
The video below reflects life in a tent city. DML interviews a man who is living in a tent. He used to have a home and car, but he lost it all when his job was cut. There are many Americans like him who cannot find full time work. The man in the video is a carpenter, he lives in Hawaii.
