House committee starts investigating Uranium One deal as possible crime

“It could be criminal.” Those are the words of Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) when asked about the Obama-era deal that involved the Clintons and the Russians.

Fox News reports that the House Oversight committee has started investigating an Obama-era deal in which a Russian-backed company bought a uranium firm with mines in the United States.

The uranium agreement was reached while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, and the Obama administration reportedly ignored evidence of bribery and kickbacks involved in the deal.

Some investors in the Russian-backed company, Uranium One, had relationships with former President Bill Clinton and donated to the Clinton Foundation.

DeSantis, who appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” was asked if a criminal investigation would be forthcoming. The lawmaker responded: “It could be criminal.”
