President Trump’s assertion on Twitter that the Obama administration had wiretapped Trump Tower was “a legitimate case to make,” according to Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee.
King admitted on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” Wednesday that his committee’s review of the president’s claim that his transition team was surveilled by the Obama administration was on-target.
“[T]he president had a very legitimate case to make,” King said, adding, “He overstepped it by saying President Obama ordered wiretapping. That we don’t know, but what we do know is, to me, this is shameful.”
According to King, Trump was right.
“I would say, from all I know, you’re at least 99-and-a-half percent accurate, and probably 100 percent,” King told host Bill O’Reilly.
