ICE chief issues warning to MS-13 criminals: “My gang is bigger”

ICE Chief Thomas Homan called out the notorious international crime gang MS-13 in an interview with The Daily Caller Wednesday, warning the group: “My gang is bigger.”

Homan noted that MS-13 is high on the list of the many gangs targeted in ICE Homeland Security investigations (HSI) because “they seem to be the most violent right now and they think they can act with impunity.”

Overall, the United States has sought to target the group specifically since 2004. President Trump has made eradicating the gang’s activity in the United States one of his priorities, and so far, ICE endeavors to do so have been fruitful.

“We’re taking this seriously. My gang is bigger than theirs, and we are going to take them out,” Homan said. “That’s the goal. The president supports that. We’re going to follow through on the president’s promise and we are going to take out MS-13 as much as we can.”

In his address to the Senate Judiciary Committee last month, ICE HSI Acting Associate Executive Director Derek Benner said that between fiscal 2016 and June 4, ICE HSI forces had arrested more than 8,000 gang members. 602 of those arrests were members of MS-13.
