A Tyson spokesperson said that a lobbyist for the food giant was one of the four victims on the GOP baseball team wounded at the shooting at a Congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia this morning.
“We have confirmed that Matt Mika, director-government relations for our Washington, D.C. office, is among those who was shot this morning in Alexandria,” Gary Mickelson, a Tyson spokesman, said in a statement.
Mika, along with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and Zack Barth, a legislative correspondent in the office of Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas) were among those wounded when a shooter unloaded on the field at the practice of a Congressional baseball team. Witnesses said they heard as many as 14 shots fired.
Also identified are two members of the Capitol Police who were injured, Krystal Griner and David Bailey.
