Police in Hickory, North Carolina were called to the Walmart store located at 2415 Springs Road on Wed, May 18, on reports of a suspicious person in the parking lot, accord to police spokesperson Chrystal Dieter.
Police found the man trying to break into vehicles in the parking lot. When they questioned him, he gave a false name to the officers before they were finally able to positively identify him.
Jose Andre Callejas, 19, was charged with resisting an officer, and one count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
The possession charge was from an outstanding March 15 warrant.
He was issued a $5,500 secured bond.
Reportedly, he is in the U.S. illegally.
