A 65-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Portland Oregon by Sergio Jose Martinez, 31, a Mexican national, who is not only accused of rape. Martinez has re-entered the United States illegally after being deported over a dozen times.
According to court documents, Martinez “has entry/removal from [the] United States to/from Mexico 20 times with at least [five] probation violations from re-entry,” KOIN CBS6 reported.
Martinez allegedly broke in to the home of the 65-year-old woman, held her at knife point, tied her up and raped her. He then fled in his victim’s Prius.
The Oregonian reports:
The woman escaped from the car, the affidavit said, then Martinez tackled her and bashed her head into the ground. The woman fought back and screamed for help. When people started to come into the parking garage, Martinez tried to drive off in her car but could not.
The same day, he attacked a woman in the basement of a parking garage, where police responding to a report of the assault allegedly found Martinez in the act of raping a second victim, also holding her at knife point.
The assaults are only the latest crimes on a long list, as Martinez has an extensive criminal history including burglary, battery, multiple deportations, served jail time and a has history of drug and alcohol abuse, starting when the illegal alien was only 15-years old. He has had run-ins with the law in Texas, California and Oregon.
The last time immigration officials deported Martinez was in November 2016. Authorities don’t know how or when he re-entered the U.S., but he was illegally living Portland, a sanctuary city. He’d been working odd jobs while also abusing alcohol, and, to a lesser extent, methamphetamine and marijuana.
Martinez is currently being held without bail, but Brietbart reports that Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese told Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson “community trust” is damaged when his department turns criminal alien sex offenders over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
Reese has a history of releasing Mexican criminal aliens. Hold orders from ICE have been ignored, even those concerning people convicted of sexual assault.
According to an ICE report issued earlier this year, Sheriff Reese’s jail released a Mexican who had a prior conviction for sexual assault, another Mexican national convicted of assault and a Tongan national convicted of amphetamine possession.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions says sanctuary policies leave the 300 or so participating cities unsafe, and draw criminals to them. He said a University of California Riverside study found that cities with sanctuary policies average more crimes than those that don’t.
“These jurisdictions are protecting criminals rather than their law-abiding residents,” Session said, and admonished them for extending sanctuary to violent offenders like members of the MS-13 gang.
Portlan’s sanctuary city status is creating a lawless attitude, even at the bench. A Portland Judge is currently the subject of a DOJ investigation, according to U.S. Attorney Billy Williams. Allegedly, Multnomah County Judge Monica Herranz helped an illegal alien escape immigration officials when she allowed Diddier Pacheco Salazar to leave the court through a back door, an exit usually only used by court officials.
