The truth about the death of a Detroit-area woman has been revealed by the leader of a mosque in Michigan.

Imam Husham Al-Hussainy says the woman died before President Donald Trump signed his executive order on immigration.

This comes after Mike Hager told the Associated Press that his mother died as a result of Trump’s executive order.

Fox News reports Imam Husham Al-Hussainy told the Associated Press Hager’s mother died on Jan. 21 or 22.

He said at that time prayers were given on the woman’s behalf at his mosque, the Karbalaa Islamic Educational Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

Fox2 reported that the Imam had actually voted for President Trump.

Al-Hussainy added that the mother’s funeral was held last weekend.

Hager had been telling news stations that he and his family went to Iraq where his mother fell ill and was unable to return to the U.S. because of Trump’s travel ban.

The Associated Press attempted to reach Hager on Wednesday but did not get a response.
