IndyCar drivers robbed at drive-thru

Indianapolis Police report that IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti were robbed at gunpoint Sunday night at an Indianapolis Taco Bell. Two teenagers have been arrested for the crime.

According to police reports, Franchitti and Dixon were several blocks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the Taco Bell drive-thru when two teenage boys robbed them around 9:45 pm.

Police located and arrested the juvenile suspects who are currently being detained on felony robbery charges.

Just hours before the robbery, Dixon earned the pole for the Indy 500 with one of the fastest qualifying times in history. Franchitti won the Indy 500 three times prior to his retirement in 2013 after he sustained a serious injury in a crash.
