Inmates Blame Trump for Prison Takeover (Video)

Yesterday, at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time, inmates at the James T. Vaughn Correction Center in Smyrna, Delaware, took over a portion of the facility where they held four employees hostage.

A few hours later, two of the hostages were released.

Nearly 20 hours later, a third employee was rescued but the fourth hostage was found dead.

During the takeover, one of the inmates made a phone call to Delaware’s The News Journal. A voice recording of the call was made available today.

During the conversation, the inmate blames the uprising on a fear of President Trump, saying, “Donald Trump, everything that he did, all the things that he’s doing now…, we know that the institutions gonna change for the worse.”

The prison’s C building, which houses over 100 inmates, has since been secured.
