“Instagram Sisters” Arrested in Extortion Scheme

Two sisters from Toronto who are known for their “stardom” on the photo-sharing website Instagram, were arrested in Nigeria on Tuesday after an attempt to extort money from a Nigerian businessman.  The sisters were threatening him to pay-up or they’d release information about him cheating on his wife.

According to Nigeria Politics, the Nigerian businessman is Femi Otedola, and the sisters are Jyoti and Krian Matharoo. Otedela complained about the women to authorities when he discovered they had a history of blackmailing rich businessmen after sleeping with them.

Authorities investigated the claim and learned that the girls had laptops filled with pictures and videos of the wealthy businessmen and politicians with whom they had slept with.  The sisters had published some of the videos of their sex acts with the men to a website called Naijagistlive.com.

The girls are now accused of “humiliation and cyber-bullying of some 274 persons, mostly based in Africa.”  The sisters were taken into custody after the billionaire filed a complaint against them on Dec. 23rd.

Jyoti and Krian’s next day in court is on Jan 26, 2017.

The sisters are often compared to the Kardashians because of their sexy selfies posted to Instagram.
