Iran Makes Statement on Nuke Deal

Today, Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi revealed that Iran will not be renegotiating its nuclear agreement with world powers.  No doubt Araqchi makes the statement knowing full well that any resistance to a new deal could result in President Trump placing tough sanctions on Iran.

In an interview with the state news agency IRNA, Araqchi explained that no such occurrences will happen, and he refuses to reopen the negotiation. He believes that nuclear talks with America have ceased and will not be revisited.  “There will be no renegotiation and the (agreement) will not be reopened,” said Araqchi,

Under Iran’s agreement with the United States, France, Germany, Britain, Russia and China, most U.N. sanctions were lifted a year ago. But Iran is still subject to an U.N. arms embargo and other restrictions, which are not technically part of the nuclear agreement.
