An Islamic State group has taken credit for firing four rockets into Israeli territory on Wednesday night.
The Israeli army has confirmed this unprovoked attack and said the rockets, fired from Egyptian territory and targeted at Israel’s resort town of Eilat, did not cause any casualties.
Three of the four rockets were taken down by Israel’s sophisticated Iron Dome Air Defense system, while one that got away fell short of an Israeli town.
This has been called a “rare” attack on Israel from Egyptian territory.
Coincidentally, a few hours later, two Palestinians were killed in the Sinai, and the Islamic Hamas movement called it an Israeli air strike, which Israel’s Army spokesman, Peter Lerner, denied.

According to a report by Yahoo: “A spokesman of Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, Ashraf al-Qudra, named the two men killed as Hossam al-Sufi, 24, and Mohammed al-Aqra, 38, and Qudra said five others were wounded in what he called an Israeli strike.”
A jihadi-Egyptian affiliate posted on social media about the firing of the rockets on Israel’s town of Eilat: “Thanks to God alone, a military platoon fired several Grad rockets yesterday.”
