Multiple news agencies have reported that ISIS has claimed reponsibility for Thursday’s attack on police officers in central Paris.

According to a statement from the Islamic State’s news agency, Amaq, they have claimed that the attacker is one of their fighters from Belgium, naming him as Abu Yousif al-Beljiki.

One police officer was killed and two other officers were reported wounded in the attack.

Fox News confirmed that the attacker was already known to police in France as an extremist, and they are currently searching his home.    The gunman was killed in the shootout with police, and officials are now stating they believe he acted alone.
