The Iraqi army has released images of  Jihadists who attempted to escape Mosul in not-so clever disguises.

According to the Iraqi force, ISIS fighters have attempted to escape the city, after it was recaptured. Men have costumed themselves in women’s clothing, some even adding padded bra’s and attempting to apply make-up, albeit with unpracticed hands.

Some of the deceptive fighters have made one critical mistake – they forgot to shave their facial hair – a decision that helps authorities identify the duplicity.

In released photos, one man appears in heavy eye shadow, dark lipstick and thick powder, the impostor going so far as to add beauty spots. But his bushy mustache and beard are a dead giveaway. (More below)

The men are trying to escape Mosul’s Old City, largely reduced to rubble after a long battle between Iraq’s US-backed forces and the Islamic State. Mosul was liberated on July 10.

The army released a number of  photos of captured men, including shots of officers mischievously posing beside them.
