Ivanka & China Trademarks Raising Eyebrows

Adding to ongoing concerns from critics regarding Trump business interests benefiting from the family’s new political positions, three new Ivanka Trump brand trademarks were reportedly approved in China on the same day Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner dined with Chinese President Xi Jinping and wife Peng Liyuan at a Mar-a-Lago state dinner on April 6, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.

Trump and Kushner sat next to the Chinese leader that evening, and then it was discovered that three trademarks bestowing monopoly rights to sell Ivanka brand jewelry, bags and spa services were approved in China that same day.

Founded in 2007, Ivanka Trump Marks LLC has reported off-the-chart sales since her father took office, even though retailers, including Nordstrom, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls pulled her line from their stores.

Ivanka Trump placed her business in a family trust and stepped away from it before moving into her new role as a White House adviser.
