James Comey receives job offer from Assange

The Tuesday firing of FBI Director James Comey by President Trump is being viewed as “political interference” by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.  Meanwhile, Julian Assange has offered the disgraced Comey a job with WikiLeaks.

“Set aside politics: every American should condemn such political interference in the Bureau’s work,” Snowden tweeted.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein asserted that Comey was terminated due to his mishandling the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state, but many contend that Comey’s firing is associated with his role in the Russia probe.

“This FBI Director has sought for years to jail me on account of my political activities,” Snowden tweeted. “If I can oppose his firing, so can you.”

Meanwhile, Assange weighed in, tweeting that: “WikiLeaks would be happy to consider hiring James Comey to help lead its DC office should he like to properly investigate the US government.”

Snowden also retweeted a couple of posts comparing Comey’s firing to the Watergate scandal.
