Jeb Bush Alleges Trump Will Never Build The Wall

Jeb Bush doesn’t deny that Trump could very well win the presidency, but the man who Trump labeled as “low energy” doesn’t have the energy to vote for him.

“I can’t vote for Donald Trump and I can’t vote for Hillary Clinton. It breaks my heart,” Bush said. “This is my first time in my adult life I’m confronted with this dilemma.”

In an interview with his brother’s former White House communications director, Nicolle Wallace, of MSNBC, Jeb Bush wasn’t very upbeat or optimistic.  He’s not going to the Republican convention – neither are his parents nor his brother – and he’s not voting for either Trump or Clinton.   He doesn’t deny that there’s a very real possibility Trump may win the White House, but even if he does, it’s all doom and gloom.

Bush says voters are going to be disappointed and betrayed.  He claims Trump will not build a wall, Mexico is not going to pay for it, and there’s not going to be any ban on Muslims.   He said Trump just created an “alternative universe” that’s not going to materialize.

The nomination was supposed to go to Bush.  Backed by establishment elites, he had a super-PAC loaded with cash, and was branded by the media from the beginning as the assumed frontrunner.  Many political analysts predicted another “Bush vs. Clinton” election – but the American public was having none of it, leaning more to Trump and Cruz in an obvious effort to ditch the “old guard.”

Bush did give Trump credit (in a way) for skyrocketing to the front to become the presumptive GOP nominee, saying, “Trump, to his credit, was very smart at exploiting these kinds of opportunities.  He’s a master at understanding how the media works – more than anybody I’ve seen in politics.   Kudos to him for, you know, kind of creating the environment and then manipulating the environment to his effect.”

He said the voters are angry for legitimate reasons, and they just “latched onto the big horse.”

“So, you know, kudos for the guy for his, you know, I think he just – he plays by his gut,” Bush said.  “He sensed an opening – this deep disaffection – and he played it like a Stradivarius violin.”

When Wallace asked him who would be the better president, Trump or Clinton, he answered, “Neither for me – and you’re not going to get me to change that.”

He touched on the Clinton investigation, where the FBI made it clear that she had lied, and then he compared the same pattern of lying to Trump.

“Donald Trump does the exact same thing in a different way,” Bush alleged.   “We’re in perilous times in our country and we need principled centered leadership.”    He says the American people are going to be deeply frustrated and the divides will grow in our country if Trump wins, claiming that the country will “continue to stagger instead of soar.”

“So… kudos for Trump for winning the nomination.  It was extraordinary. And you can’t – can’t take that away from him.  He’s the presumptive nominee and he earned it.   Now he needs to run for president,” Bush said.

Speaking to MSNBC after the interview, Nicolle Wallace said Jeb Bush “ran into this brick wall called Donald Trump.”
