Former Florida governor Jeb Bush called illegal immigration an “act of love” in April 2014, and now he’s thrilled that President Trump is seeking a “bill of love” to solve the issue of illegal immigrant “Dreamers”.
“Encouraged the President is seeking bipartisan solutions to our immigration challenges,” Bush tweeted Tuesday afternoon shortly after Trump made it clear — with reporters present — that he will approve a DACA deal, and promised he will sign whatever the ends up on his desk, even if he doesn’t agree with it 100 percent. He said he trusts lawmakers on both sides to come up with a deal that works.
Trump told a bipartisan group of lawmakers on Tuesday that the group of politicians share a desire to agree on a bill that would legalize Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, a program former President Obama created by executive order.
Trump urged House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., to make sure the bill his committee moves on is a “bill of love.”
