It seems, according to Jerry Falwell Jr, that Betsy DeVos was not Donald Trump’s first choice for Education Secretary.
The Blaze reports the Liberty University President stated Saturday, in an interview with the Associated Press, that President elect-Donald Trump offered him the job of education secretary. Fallwell stated he had to turn it down for a few personal reasons.

Falwell told the AP that Trump wanted a four-to-six-year commitment from him, but that he couldn’t leave Liberty for more than two years. Plus, Falwell said he didn’t want to work in Washington D.C. for more than two years because he didn’t want to relocate his family, especially his 16-year-old daughter.”
On this past Wednesday, Trump announced Betsy DeVos, as his choice for Education Secretary.
Falwell agreed with his pick and said she was an excellent choice.
