Late night TV personality, and avid Barack Obama supporter, Jimmy Kimmel has been receiving an ocean of nasty messages on social media from supporters of President Donald J. Trump this week.
The flow of tweets and Facebook messages started after the progressively-minded show host slammed the president for his comments regarding the Unite the Right rally that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday and left dozens hurt and one 32-year-old lady dead after being hit by a car driven by a KKK supporter.
On Tuesday, Kimmel jumped on the anti-Trump train by slamming the president for not condemning far-right hate groups. But Trump supporters felt Kimmel’s criticism was misplaced, considering the president did call out haters from “all sides.”
Originally, Trump blamed “all sides” for the hate and violence that took place in Charlottesville. However, he immediately came under fire from the liberal media for not specifically addressing David Duke, the KKK, and white supremacists. The next day, the White House put out a statement saying the president did not support the hate groups listed. Nonetheless, the liberal media claimed it was too little too late.
In his non-stop berating of Trump and his supporters, Kimmel on Tuesday night called out the president’s voter base by telling them to admit they made a mistake for voting the billionaire businessman into the White House.
His comments resulted in a flurry of negative responses. Thus, on his Wednesday show, Kimmel read some of the messages on air, and in doing so, poked fun at the respondents for their comments and misspellings.
Kimmel read out the following tweets:
“Jimmy Kimmel reminds me of demented little kid at a social gathering. Where in the hell is this kid’s parents? They should be arrested for giving birth to him.”
“Stop crying on TV, you snowflake.”
“Jimmy Kimmel is the worst talk show host and most stupid person I have ever seen,”
“Stupid Kimmel as far as I am concerned is a racist and is promoting racism.”
“If Jimmy Kimmel heard a firecracker as he was walking by himself anywhere, he would wear his pants like the little coward he is.”
As seen in the video below, one tweet came through with a typo. In a lame attempt to be funny, Jimmy Kimmel blasted the person for the grammatical error. However, it is widely accepted for tweets to have abbreviated words or misspellings due to the limited amount of characters permitted in a tweet. But Kimmel, in his desperate search for laughs, overlooked how Twitter often works.
