According to MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, the Trump administration and White House strategist Stephen Bannon will lose in a war against the media.

On Friday, Scarborough angrily addressed Bannon’s recent comments stating the media should “keep its mouth shut” and labeling them the “opposition party.” The media pundit called Bannon’s statements “so inflammatory and disturbing that I have almost no doubt that it was made to provoke us.”

Bannon, in a New York Times interview on Thursday, charged the following: “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile.” Bannon also praised White House press secretary Sean Spicer for having to face the media when they questioned the legitimacy of President Trump’s inauguration crowd.

The “Morning Joe” host, clearly disturbed by Bannon’s rhetoric, proclaimed, “At the end of the day, this is such a short-sighted strategy. This will end very very badly. Taking on the press like that, it always ends badly. The press always wins. Washington always wins. You figure out how to work with them or you’re going to get crushed. ”

Scarborough went on to de-legitimize Trump’s electoral win by downplaying their claimed success in the voting booths. “They beat Hillary Clinton, the only politician in America trusted less than Donald Trump,” he said.
