Just in: White House on lockdown after ‘suspicious activity’ along fence

The Secret Service on Friday has taken a suspect into custody after “suspicious activity” was reported along the North Fence line of the 18-acre White House complex.

The White House remains in lockdown as agents double-check the grounds.

No details have yet been given on what exactly the activity was, but it has been reported Trump is in the air and on his way to Hawaii.

Pennsylvania Ave. and Lafayette Park are also closed to pedestrians near the White House. Reporters and staffers are instructed not to leave the White House while the investigation is ongoing.

The incident comes minutes after President Trump departed the White House on Marine One to begin his trip to Asia.
