Violent protests against the Group of 20 summit are keeping Melania Trump confined to her guest house in Hamburg, Germany as her husband meets with the world leaders.
The German Chancellor’s husband, Joachim Sauer, was supposed to take the First Lady on a tour of the German Climate Computing Centre in Hamburg with Ivanka Trump and other spouses of G-20 leaders on Friday, but because of the chaos unfolding in the streets of the city, they have no security clearance and must remain in place.
Melania tweeted that she’s thinking of those who have been hurt in the protests and hopes everyone stays safe.

At least 76 people have been injured in what’s been dubbed the “Welcome to Hell” rally in the city streets of Hamburg. Police have had to use water cannons on protesters dressed in black who were hurling water bottles at them.
Other protests against capitalism and globalization are taking place in Hamburg today, with police expecting up to 100,000 demonstrators. Approximately 20,000 police will be guarding the summit.
New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio is amongst the protesters causing chaos for the summit.
