Kellyanne Conway Comes to Melania’s Aid

Earlier this week, tabloid magazine US Weekly published a story insinuating First Lady Melania Trump and her son Barron would not be making the eventual move to Washington D.C.

Presidential counselor and Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway rushed to Melania’s defense, telling Fox News “it’s nonsense.”

Howard Kurtz, the host of MediaBuzz, had Conway on his show to discuss the story. A very passionate Conway didn’t mince words in her defense of the First Lady.

“[Melania] has plenty of a public role. The woman is beautiful inside and out. She’s brilliant; she speaks five languages,” Conway said. “She is a loving and supportive wife and mother…, and I have to say a great friend and great role model to many of us who work closely with the president and first family.”

Conway also underscored the mainstream media’s attempts to thrust the first lady into an unwanted status.

“[The media] want to see, they want to poke, they want to dissect and wonder,” said Conway. “I so admire the fact that Melania Trump, our first lady, is so comfortable in her own skin that she doesn’t have to disprove anybody’s negative stories or even positive stories.”
