ABC’s liberal, Trump bashing late-night host Jimmy Kimmel used a group of young children to give the president another dressing down on Thursday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Kimmel said that with Trump’s approval at 37% among adults, he wanted to see what kids thought. Speaking with several young children, Kimmel’s team quizzed them on President Donald J. Trump’s job performance after his first year in office.
The Hill reports:
“How do you think President Trump has done in his first year in office?” the producer asks.
“Great,” the first child says. “He saved the world.”
“From what?” the producer responds.
Other kids were less enthusiastic about the president, with one citing Trump’s planned immigration policy as a reason why.”No,” one girl answered. “Because he wants to build a wall over Mexico, and I, like, love going to Mexico.”
“What’s the first thing you think of when I say ‘Donald Trump?'” the producer asked one young boy.
“Small fingers,” he answered, to laughs from the audience. “And orange face.”
“I think he needs to stop threatening North Korea,” another boy said. “Because I don’t want to get nuked.”
Kimmel is a longtime critic of the Trump administration and fought Republicans last year over their plan to repeal ObamaCare. The host became a vocal critic after his son was born with a heart defect that required immediate and expensive surgeries.
As recently as Wednesday, the comedian was still sparring with Republicans on Twitter, including a top aide to House Speaker Paul Ryan(R-Wis.).
“Shame on you for making [the Children’s Health Insurance Program] a bargaining chip, shame on you for tying our children’s lives to immigration and shame on you and @SpeakerRyan for doing ANYTHING other than funding CHIP cleanly and IMMEDIATELY,” Kimmel tweeted.
