Knee-taker Colin Kaepernick says he’ll stand for flag if given chance to play in NFL

Regret is rushing in on ex-NFL player Colin Kaepernick faster than linebackers blitzed him during football games.

Kaepernick, the outspoken Muslim who supports Black Lives Matter, started the anti-American movement of taking a knee during the national anthem in 2016. But now, Kaepernick finds himself without a team to play for, and it’s killing him inside.

The loud-mouthed, cop-hating quarterback was not picked up by any NFL teams after his contract with the San Francisco 49ers ended in 2016. Although many black activists, like filmmaker Spike Lee, blame his absence from the NFL on teams not wanting to accept and support his protesting racial injustice, people like me know it’s because Kaepernick’s talents diminished.

Had Kaepernick worried more about tossing touchdowns than he did slamming the American flag, then perhaps he’d be a backup player somewhere today. But he’s not. Instead, he’s training in New Jersey with hopes of making a comeback.

Regardless of whether you agree with Lee or yours truly, fact i,s Kaepernick’s anti-American protests have caused a wave of players in the NFL to follow his lead.

Although Kaepernick’s protests started and ended under Obama’s watch, the NFL players picked up what he left behind by carrying the disrespect into 2017.

For the first few months of this season, NFL players have taken Kaepernick’s protesting concept to new levels. Although the kneeling continues, some players are taking it further by either sitting on the bench or staying in the locker room during the anthem. To make matters even worse, some of this nonsense has taken place during NFL games played in London.

But the American people have rejected the outbursts. The NFL suffers from horrible TV ratings, and a new poll shows the NFL is falling out of favor with a significant number of its fans who are now turning to baseball.

Sensing he made an epic mistake, Kaepernick is now saying he is willing to stand for the national anthem if given the chance to play in the NFL.

I never enjoy another person’s misery, but in this case I break the mold. I couldn’t be more happy to see Kaepernick struggle with the decisions he’s made. Diminished skills or not, he’s a loser, and he will never step foot on a NFL football field again because he has caused losses that will take years to recover from.

Kaepernick told CBS Sports Sunday that he is now willing to stand for the flag. But it’s too late. The next time we see Kaepernick standing is likely to be at a Black Lives Matter rally.

Justice prevails, sometimes.
