Labor secretary reveals plans on apprenticeship program with Ivanka Trump

At a White House press briefing Monday, Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta offered special thanks to Ivanka Trump and the Office of American Innovation.

He said he will be traveling with Ivanka on Tuesday to Wisconsin, where they will be looking at some excellent programs.

“Her leadership on this issue has been invaluable,” Acosta stated.

He announced a new jobs training program intended to steer more Americans toward apprenticeships and away from four-year higher level education institutions. The program is designed especially for those “who learn better by doing.”

More details on the program are expected to be released on Wednesday.
