LAPD officer shoots and kills dog near movie set

An aggressive dog was shot and killed on Friday morning by an off-duty Los Angeles police officer while he was working security for a movie set.

The officer was working security when he was approached by a man.  For some undisclosed reason the two got into an argument, according to police.  As they were arguing, the dog approached the police officer and began behaving in an aggressive manor, attacking the officer.  The officer, who sustained injuries, shot the dog in self-defense.  The dog died from the bullet wound.

There were no further details regarding the identity of the officer, but the man he was arguing with was detained, police said.

It is unclear what movie was being filmed in the area.
