Leaked documents outline the Clinton campaigns strategies for manipulating and using the media to their advantage, by making sure that the journalists who favor Clinton are given the stories the campaign wants published.
The hacker known as Guccifer 2.0 has provided hacked emails and documents from Hillary Clinton’s staff to The Intercept that reveal a cozy relationship between the press and Hillary Clinton.
One January 2015 document identified Politico journalist Maggie Haberman as a “friendly journalist” who has never disappointed them. The strategy document detailed how they could get Haberman to writing stories about Clinton deciding whether to run for president, to make her appear transparent about her vetting process.

From The Intercept:
The Clinton campaign likes to use glitzy, intimate, completely off-the-recordparties between top campaign aides and leading media personalities. One of the most elaborately planned get-togethers was described in an April, 2015, memo — produced, according to the document metadata, by deputy press secretary Jesse Ferguson — to take place shortly before Clinton’s official announcement of her candidacy. The event was an April 10 cocktail party for leading news figures and top-level Clinton staff at the Upper East Side home of Clinton strategist Joel Benenson, a fully off-the-record gathering designed to impart the campaign’s messaging:
A separate email chain between Clinton staff (one that was not among those provided by Guccifer 2.0 but appeared on the DCLeaks.com site earlier this week) contains plans for a separate off-the-record media get-together in May. Food and drinks were provided by the campaign for the journalists covering it, on the condition that nothing said would be reported to the public.
These type of special parties for the media go right along with an incident that occurred in Nevada in August, when Clinton was surrounded by reporters. As they started asking her questions, a man with a tray of chocolates suddenly appeared at her side. Clinton took one, and told everyone to try a chocolate as she moved on.
