A 25-foot tall inflatable chicken with gold Trump hair was erected on the White House lawn Thursday morning when a protest permit was obtained by Taran Singh Brar, the man behind the stunt who is making waves on social media.

Brar issued a statement about why he is protesting the president with the giant Trump chicken, which can be purchased on eBay, on the White House lawn:

“We are out here to criticize our president for being weak and ineffective as a leader and being too afraid to release his tax returns, too afraid to stand up to Putin and now engaged in a game of chicken with Kim Jong Un. Yet he wants a military parade in DC. It’s all incongruous, and we are here to make fun of him for that.”

However, considering Brar’s statement, the protest is a total hapless misfire. If he wanted Trump to see the childish inflatable erected, he is out of luck since Trump is working out of his residences in New Jersey and New York while the White House undergoes a 17-day renovation makeover. As far as media sources are reporting, Brar only obtained a permit for this week.

Another gaffe is that Brar’s ‘Trump is a chicken’ rhetoric doesn’t make much sense, since mainstream media is claiming we’re all going to die due to the president’s tough and hawkish rhetoric regarding North Korea. Not only did Trump emphasize “fire and fury” toward the communist regime – which no president has been strong-willed enough to do in the past – but the president even doubled down on his statement after receiving flak from liberal elites.

The chicken inflatable itself actually looks pretty cool; if Trump was an anamorphic animal, this inflatable would depict a pretty nifty representation of his caricature. If it’s supposed to be insulting in its imagery, it certainly falls short.

Of course, if Obama were portrayed as an animal, racism would be accused and there would be crying foul endlessly.

Incidentally, the chicken was originally designed by an artist to celebrate the ‘Year of the Rooster’ and was erected outside a Chinese mall.

Based on Twitter reactions, it’s clear the right is enjoying the feeble protest more than the left. See some of the humorous reactions to the #TrumpChicken below:
