Everything that’s wrong in this world now has a scapegoat: President Donald Trump.
Liberal news outlets have been quick to attribute all sorts of societal problems, including misogyny, climate change, and terrorism to the President, and now BuzzFeed reporters are claiming that if your child is experiencing bullying at school, it likely leads back to Trump. Liberal news outlets are calling it “The Trump Effect.”
BuzzFeed News released a report on Tuesday claiming that they’ve “confirmed more than 50 incidents, across 26 states, which a K-12 student involved Trump’s name or message in an apparent effort to harass a classmate.” Without any actual statistics to reference, they used the information from bullying reports that were submitted to the George Soros-funded Documenting Hate project, set up by ProPublica.
According to Newsbusters, the Documenting Hate project focuses only on attacks on people of color, as if any attack perpetrated against a white person is unimportant or perhaps even warranted.
BuzzFeed claims that teachers are now noticing political rhetoric being bantered about in the classroom more than ever before. “For kids, there is no escaping Trump,” said the article, which characterized the President as a hate monger who promotes “playground bullying.”
Citing one incident in which boys wearing Trump t-shirts chanted racial slurs at a black teenage girl, the news outlet claimed that the bullying took place because of Trump, even though the kids never said his name. Another incident recalled a “Trump supporter” talking trash about Jews to a fellow student, but there was no clear tie-in to Trump, whose daughter and grandchildren are actually Jewish.
According to Buzzfeed reporters, merely “holding pictures of the Confederate flag and Trump” qualify as bullying.
One teacher was quoted as saying, “Many of our students feel unsafe and disrespected.” And other teachers and school officials interviewed said that today’s political bullying in schools “reflects a wider climate of hate that we’re seeing,” as one Oregon school superintendent put it.
According to BuzzFeed, students who talk about the President in anything but the most derogatory terms are racist bullies. However, if you talk to the parents of children who come from conservative households, it’s clear that those children are actually taking the brunt of bullying these days; not just from their liberal-leaning classmates, but from their teachers as well.
