Lindsay Lohan Claims She Was Profiled for Wearing Headscarf

When actress Lindsay Lohan returned from her recent trip to Turkey where she met with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, she stated she was “racially profiled” at London’s Heathrow Airport.

Lohan made this claim to the British talk show, “Good Morning Britain,” on Tuesday and said that the incident made her ask, “How would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel?”

Lohan must have considered being asked to remove her headscarf as profiling, as she said to the host, “An airport worker opened my passport and saw ‘Lindsay Lohan’ and started immediately apologizing, but then said: ‘Please take off your headscarf.’”

Lindsay said that she was wearing the headscarf out of “personal respect” for the president of Turkey.

According to, British travel regulations state that Lohan would have had the right to refuse to remove her headscarf: “If you’re wearing headgear for religious or cultural reasons, you can ask for it to be checked using a hand-held scanner so you don’t have to remove it.”

Lohan also admitted she studies the Koran and is “considering” converting to Islam.
