The liberal leaning rag, Newsweek doesn’t hold back from criticizing President Donald J. Trump in its latest issue.
The cover says it all: “LAZY BOY: Donald Trump is bored and tired. Imagine how bad he’d feel if he did any work.”
The cover features an illustration of the president sitting in a recliner with junk food, his phone and a remote.
As you’d imagine, the cover is grabbing headlines and TV talk shows are abuzz discussing if the magazine goes too far, or doesn’t go far enough.
The magazine cover has Trump supporters furious. That said, it’s also caused some Trump critics to call out the magazine. For example, Neil Cavuto at Fox News Channel thinks the magazine cover, and the story inside, is downright wrong and unfair.
Neil Cavuto will tell you that President Donald J. Trump doesn’t like him or his TV show called, “Your World.” He doesn’t know why Trump doesn’t like him, but prior to winning the presidency, Trump boycotted the show.
People from Trump’s office allegedly told Neil Cavuto’s staff that the show doesn’t treat Trump fairly. Thus, ‘Your World’ is the one Fox News program Donald J. Trump ignores completely.
With that in mind, during his Friday afternoon program, Neil Cavuto put out a list of accomplishments by President Trump in his first six months.
Cavuto’s reason for making the list? He was inspired by the cover of Newsweek.
Cavuto starts out by stating Newsweek claims the Trump presidency has been an epic failure after just six months, and there is no hope for it to recover. He then asks what facts is Newsweek considering? He then rips into the magazine for terrible, irresponsible journalism.
Neil Cavuto concludes by listing some of Trump’s accomplishments, most of them business related. He says not one of them is mentioned in the Newsweek article.
Cavuto’s video clip can be watched below, but here is the short list of what he mentions:
— Massive, multi-billion dollar investments in manufacturing being made in the USA. Thus tens of thousands of jobs to be created.
— One million new jobs created in first 6 months.
— Jobless claims are the lowest in 28 years.
— Food stamp use is down by 4%.
— $4 Trillion added to stock market value.
— Reduced corporate regulations.
— Veterans Affairs Department being cleaned up significantly.
— USA pulls out of TTP.
— USA pulls out of Climate Accord.
— New trade agreements with South Korea, China, Mexico and Canada in the works.
–Keystone Pipeline re-opened.
— Oil production up by 500k barrels per day (1.3M total).
— Consumer confidence is at a 16 year high.
Cavuto’s list, although awesome, fails to mention a few items worth noting.
A. Illegal border crossing are down significantly.
B. Deportations are up.
C. Kate’s Law passed in the House.
D. Travel ban on six terror laden countries is in effect.
E. ISIS has pulled out of Mosul.
F. More countries are paying into the NATO defense fund since Trump’s visit to Europe.
G.DOJ cracking down on transnational criminals at rapid pace. 1260 convictions since January.
