Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee begins their days-long hearing on the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch, President Trump’s nomination to be the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
Before the hearing began, protesters, many of whom were wearing shirts with the hashtag #StopGorsuch, took their seats in the back row of the hearing’s audience. Among chief concern is Gorsuch’s record of siding with corporate interests over American workers.
The Supreme Court confirmation hearing began with opening statements by Committee leadership Sens. Grassley and Feinstein, which were followed by statements from other Committee members.
Gorsuch was then introduced, gave his opening statement, and the hearing continues live.
