Controversy over Megyn Kelly’s upcoming interview with Infowars founder Alex Jones has caused J.P. Morgan Chase to withdraw local television and online advertisements from the NBC network until after the interview airs Sunday.
Citing a source familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal reported that J.P. Morgan Chase does not want its advertisements to air around promotions for the Jones interview.
The report of the advertising withdrawal followed a statement by Kristin Lemkau, J.P. Morgan’s chief marketing officer, in which she said she was “repulsed” by NBC’s decision to broadcast an interview with Jones.
“As an advertiser, I’m repulsed that @megynkelly would give a second of airtime to someone who says Sandy Hook and Aurora are hoaxes. Why?” Lemkau wrote on Twitter.

On Sunday evening, NBC aired a preview of Kelly’s interview with Jones which sparked a firestorm of criticism due to Jones’ belief in and perpetuation of conspiracy theories regarding the 9/11 terrorist attacks and mass shootings.
Kelly defended the decision to interview Jones, contending that the radio host’s influence on President Trump obligates NBC to “shine a light” on him.

“POTUS’s been on & praises @RealAlexJones’ show. He’s giving Infowars a WH press credential. Many don’t know him; our job is 2 shine a light,” Kelly posted on Twitter.
The controversial interview is set to air on the June 18 edition of “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly.”
