NEW YORK – A man whose name has yet to be released, was arrested Friday after allegedly raping one woman at knifepoint and sexually assaulting another at the same park in Queens.

The man allegedly ambushed a 32-year-old woman and took her to a wooded section of the park around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday. It was there that he raped the victim and stole her money.

On Friday, the 30-year-old suspect was drinking water from a fountain in Kissena Park in Flushing when a police officer noticed he matched the profile of the attacker the women had described.

Police suspect the same individual attacked a 17-year-old jogger just one-half hour after the first incident, allegedly threatening her with a knife and forcing her to perform a sex act. That incident occurred in the park near Main St. and 56th Ave.

Charges against the suspect are still pending.
