In a demonstration of true, unconditional love, Oklahoma woman Leandria Keith accepted the marriage proposal of her bride-to-be Brandon Thompson moments before police hauled him off to jail.
With a cigarette in his mouth and six outstanding felony warrants, Thompson troubled officers for the quick opportunity to pop the question before being taken for booking. Surprisingly, they happily said yes.
“Oh my gosh is he serious?” Keith told the local press of the experience. “But I knew I was gonna say yes. Like I love him a lot. We go through our ups and downs. I guess it’s like an unconditional love, you know?”
Muskogee Police said they felt maybe being married would keep Thompson from continuously breaking the law.
“Maybe by him taking this step to propose to her, so they can get married, he can take a step to getting his life together and putting these warrants behind him and improving the life of his kids and his future wife,” said Lincoln Anderson, a spokesmen for the department.
