NEW YORK — On Wednesday, a Nassau County man committed acts of exceptional violence against two women and a toddler.

According to reports, Tommy Vladim Alvarado-Ventura, 31, stabbed his girlfriend and another woman and sexually assaulted his girlfriend’s two-year-old daughter.

Police are reporting that the suspect was inside the apartment he shares with his girlfriend at 590 Fulton Avenue Tuesday evening, along with his girlfriend’s daughter and four-year-old son and the children’s babysitter.

He left the apartment just after midnight and became involved in an altercation over a marijuana purchase outside a local bar, leading to the stabbing of his first female victim. The suspect fled the scene, and the woman was rushed to an area hospital.

Alvarado-Ventura then returned to his apartment at around 3:15 a.m. to find his girlfriend had returned from work. He proceeded to become enraged when she confronted him about noticeable signs of abuse on her daughter, first punching, then stabbing his girlfriend multiple times.

The injured woman was able to collect her children and escape to the safety of the children’s babysitter, who lives in an adjoining apartment. From there, authorities were contacted.

When Hempstead Police arrived, they found Alvarado-Ventura asleep. The suspect was arrested on the spot without further incident.

Alvarado-Ventura has been charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, second-degree attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and third-degree assault.

Alvarado-Ventura’s girlfriend and her daughter, who suffered the sexual assault, were admitted to an area hospital for treatment.

Although the man’s immigration status has not been revealed, many area residents are questioning his legal status on social media. Hempstead is known for having high numbers of illegal aliens.
