Mariah Carey has become the latest celebrity to have her Los Angeles-area home burglarized.
TMZ reported that burglars broke into the singer’s Los Angeles mansion around 3 a.m. Thursday while she was in New York City. The thieves absconded with $50,000 worth of purses and sunglasses, but no jewelry. No one was in the home at the time.
A ladder was found in the back yard, leading police to suspect that the intruders gained access to the home through a window or door on an upper floor.
A growing list of celebrities — from West Los Angeles to the San Fernando Valley — have been targeted by thieves this year, including David Spade, Jaime Pressly, Ronda Rousey, former Lakers Coach Byron Scott, Jason Derulo, Emmy Rossum, Dodgers star Yasiel Puig, Nicki Minaj, and Alanis Morissette.
