Maxine Waters denies calling for Trump’s impeachment

Frequent Donald Trump critic Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has vowed to “fight everyday until he’s impeached.”

She took to her official Twitter account on Tuesday and fired off a series of tweets calling the president a “liar,” that his “actions are contemptible” and that he and his campaign “colluded with the Russians to undermine our democracy.”

However, during an appearance on MSNBC Tuesday, Waters denied calling for Trump’s impeachment, even though her Twitter posts and public statements contradict that.

MSNBC’s Craig Melvin put her on the spot, bringing up her Twitter post from early Tuesday morning, where she said, “I’m going to fight every day until he’s impeached.”

Below is the interview, where she claimed, “I have not called for impeachment,” but then she vowed to work every day “until impeachment is taking place.”

Waters was in Washington, D.C. Saturday for what was called the “Tax March” and led a chant to impeach Trump for a number of reasons, one being that he has not released his tax returns. In a related tweet, she wrote, “Trump will not release his tax returns b/c (sic) he has something to hide. He’s only out to enrich himself, his wealthy cabinet, & White House swamp.”
