Mayor Bloomberg makes unexpected prediction about Trump’s reelection chances

In a recent interview with Frank Bruni of the New York Times, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg indicated he believes President Trump’s chances of being relected in 2020 are fairly good.

In Bruni’s write-up of the interview, which was published Wednesday, he said Bloomberg told him the Democrats simply didn’t have an effective message – and stilll don’t.

“Hillary said, ‘Vote for me because I’m a woman and the other guy’s bad,'” Bloomberg told him. He said Democrats are still searching for the right issues and words, and “too many have visions of 2020 dancing in their heads.”

Then the bombshell came, when Bloomberg predicted, “They’ll step on each other and re-elect Donald Trump,” adding that he estimates “there’s a 55 percent chance he gets re-elected.”

The Hill noted that Bloomberg called Trump a “dangerous demagogue” during his speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

However, in spite of the fact that Bloomberg supported Clinton in 2016, he now agreees she didn’t have the winning message.
