Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel loves illegal aliens. In fact, he told CNN on Sunday that he considers them “part of the Chicago family,” and he wants them to know that they they are welcome to take advantage of the city’s schools and resources.
During his appearance on CNN, Emanuel proudly said there are 140 languages spoken in Chicago schools. He then acknowledged the many sacrifices hard-working illegal aliens must make to enter a country without following the rules and said that those families are now “frightened” because of President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
“It’s incumbent as a city, whether you’re from Ireland or India, Poland or Pakistan, Mexico or Moldova, where my grandfather came from, those children are part of the Chicago family,” said Emanuel, who clearly ignores the difference between law-abiding immigrants and illegal aliens. Lumping them all in the same category, he noted that Chicago is a destination for many illegal aliens because his city “will always represent the promise of America.”
“They sacrifice, and they struggle so their kids could not only come to a place called America but specifically, Chicago,” he said, adding, “if you believe that tomorrow can be better than today, you are welcome here.”
According to Emanuel, “It not just being a sanctuary city it’s being a welcoming city.” You can watch the interview below:
