Mayor Says Trump’s Orders Unconstitutional: Will Remain Sanctuary City

In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti claimed he will ignore President Trump’s orders about ending the existence of sanctuary cities.

Garcetti claims he’s not concerned by Trump’s warning that federal funds will be stripped from cities that do not cooperate with immigration enforcement. The mayor claims Trump’s recent executive order on immigration is “Unconstitutional and un-American.”

“Separating families, or taking away funds, doesn’t seem like a way forward,” Garcetti told Cooper. The video interview can be watched below:
