Senator John McCain was extremely vocal yesterday at the Army-Navy football game about his feelings on Trump’s Secretary of State pick.
According to several media outlets, Exxon Mobil’s CEO, Rex Tillerson, will be the choice of President-elect Donald Trump for the coveted position of Secretary of State, although no official announcement has been made.
McCain had this to say during a pregame interview on Fox News, according to the Blaze;
“I don’t know what Mr. Tillerson’s relationship with Vladimir Putin was, but I’ll tell you it is a matter of concern to me. You want to give the president of the United States the benefit of the doubt because the people have spoken. But Vladimir Putin is a thug, a bully and a murderer, and anybody else who describes him as anything else is lying.”
McCain is the only Republican senator so far to raise objections to Tillerson but if just three more joined him and there was a united Democratic front, Tillerson’s nomination could be blocked.
Trump’s pick for secretary of state is an accomplished executive. https://t.co/tqHOC1lnIB
